Cloud Architecture — AWS & Azure
With expertise in edge processing, I enable seamless data connectivity to enterprise storage systems. My experience in cloud architecture spans requirements gathering, design, and full implementation. Common AWS services for industrial IoT include AWS IoT Core (device connectivity), AWS IoT Greengrass (edge processing), Amazon Timestream (time-series data), Amazon S3 (data lake storage), AWS Lambda (event-driven processing), and Amazon QuickSight (business intelligence). All designs include accurate cost forecasting to ensure long-term sustainability, and architecture options are documented against technical and commercial criteria.
IoT & IIoT Integration
I develop strategies for connectivity, management, and data collection of IoT and IIoT devices — whether integrating with cloud platforms or existing SCADA systems. This includes creating bespoke software to handle custom device payloads via MQTT, ensuring smooth communication between devices and systems. All integration architectures are designed in alignment with IEC 62443 security principles: OT networks remain isolated, device authentication uses certificate-based identity, data in transit is encrypted (TLS), and IAM policies follow least-privilege principles.
Edge Computing & Data Connectivity
Edge computing in industrial settings means processing data close to the source — at the plant, substation, or pump station — rather than sending all raw data to the cloud. This reduces latency, bandwidth costs, and cloud data volumes, while enabling real-time control decisions and ensuring continuity of operation if cloud connectivity is interrupted. I design edge architectures that balance local intelligence with cloud-scale analytics, using platforms such as AWS IoT Greengrass and Azure IoT Edge.
Data Value & Business Intelligence
My approach is always focused on increasing the value of your operational data — enabling more informed business decisions and leveraging digital solutions to their fullest potential. This includes connecting OT data sources (SCADA historians, IoT sensors, asset management systems) to BI platforms, building dashboards for operations and executive audiences, and developing predictive analytics use cases relevant to your sector.

Many organisations pursuing digitalisation treat cybersecurity as an afterthought — bolted on after architecture decisions are made. In OT environments, this is particularly dangerous: an IoT device that connects to your cloud platform is also a potential entry point into your control network.
