Introduction

I have over twenty years of experience with consulting, specifying, designing, building and supporting industrial control systems for critical infrastructure customers including water/wastewater, oil and gas, and power generation in both here in Australia and in the UK and NZ. I have a personal interest in cloud computing and digital transformation, and the benefits that can bring to modern businesses. Digital / Cloud Solutions

• AWS Solution Architect Associate (SAA-C03)
• Process review and optimisation, through existing tools and new technologies

IT and OT Cybersecurity

• ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Expert
• GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
• Defining, implementing and assessing management systems covering ISO27001 (ISMS) and IEC62443-2-1/ISA99 (CSMS)
• Compliance to frameworks including NIST and AES-CSF, with some experience with ACSC ISM
• Local and remote assessment of compliance to best practices, ACSC Essential Eight, and corporate policies. Including rectification reports, plans and the implementation of agreed resolutions

• Provision of cybersecurity awareness training covering the benefits of cybersecurity to a business to support a business case, and refresher of the common threats to employees, tailored to OT as necessary
• Implementation of technical controls including antivirus, firewalls, NIDS, WAF, encryption, SIEM, detection and monitoring

SCADA / ICS / Telemetry Solutions

• Functional requirements, concept design and detailed design of small, medium and large SCADA solutions. Including water and waste water, power, oil and gas, and renewables (solar and windfarms)
• Design of hardware, software and network solutions, specifically integration northbound from Purdue level 2 upwards
• Deep-dive functionality and performance review, tuning and monitoring of Geo SCADA (ClearSCADA) systems, including hardware specifications and optimised operating system configuration
• Automated Geo SCADA database generation and configuration
• Development of custom Geo SCADA functionality, including .NET applications and IEC61131 logic
• Training and mentoring of staff to support a Geo SCADA system long term
